Subject:Help Identifying Vase
Posted By: Kathy Simpson Wed, Apr 21, 2010 IP: 207.200.116.74

I purchased this vase in the early to mid 1970's and paid $500.00 for it. It is approximately 18 inches tall and has 7 figures climbing on the vase. Each figure is about 4-1/2 inchest tall. The background is dark blue with flowers (chrysanthemums, I believe) painted on the vase. There are no markings on the bottom of the vase that I could find. I would like to identify this vase and see if it has any value. Any help would be appreciated. I did post this on the Asian Art Forum and had 209 viewers and 1 response. I would like more information if possible about the identity and the estimated value. Thanks.

This type of vase given as wedding gift to wish "many boys". Value is sentimental value for couple who received as gift when new-made.

Not have much value as art except how much you like it as decoration.

Good luck,
Cal
