30cm across,no marks front or back and heavy for it's size,any idea of it's age,thanks for looking,

Hello Keith,

Some of these otherwise attractive Japanese metal wares are made of a spelter type material that is plated and finished in other metallic surfaces. Often the only way I can tell the difference between them and traditional mixed metal work is that the plate tends to peel with time. There's no way to tell from a distance if this is the case with your tray.

Thanks Bill,it seems to be old but may just have had a 'hard life' your probably right about it being mixed metal,still I like it,don't see too many pieces like this where I live,have included pic' of back,ta,Keith.
