Subject:Any info on these Mother of Pearl Warrior plaques
Posted By: Geoffrey Tue, May 11, 2010 IP: 99.156.239.225

I've got a ton of chinese and japanese items I have to liquidate for a family estate and I'm having a tough time with finding out info on them. My Grandmother's sister was an art dealer and importer in the 40's out in Philadelphia and a lot of this stuff came from there but I'm running out of ideas. Here's one of the pieces I'm looking at selling so any info can be very helpful. There are cracks that run through the wood but it seems as if it's ment to be that way as the cracks do not interfere with the pearl inlay. Thanks

These decorative items were almost certainly new when your relative bought them.

They do not have traditionary artistic value. While their workmanship is on the better end of tourist-type items, value for a buyer today would be simply how much they like the item.

Good luck,
Cal
