Jade or stone? Old or new? Any information history/origin/value sincerely appreciated.

Not Jade, but it is either a soft Serpentine, or soapstone..not old.

I sincerely hope you did not pay too much for this jade dragon because it is surely modern and quite "interesting".

Now there is a slight chance that it could be actually made of real nephrite jade if you cannot scratch it (with a pocket knife or needle). I had actually seen stone similar to this, with some tested to be nephrite and some serpentine.

Please let us know the result of your scratch test. It will be interested to know. Thanks.
