Subject:chinese painting
Posted By: li Mon, Jun 07, 2010 IP: 96.224.46.17

got this chinese silk painting form an auction. mounted on board (16" X 20"). i checked and the painter was from the five dynasty. but, the painting is in near perfect condition, although it was remounted sometime ago. the border fabric is actually very old.
-can someone can share the info on the collector seals?
- what direction should i go to get the painting authenticated?
thanks in advance for all the help!

your picture looks like a digital copy.
the seals should be more dark red looking.

looks like a plausible older painting, the signature added later by some dealer trying to boost its value. don't recognize the seals offhand, (which is a good thing) they look like plausible collectors seals. I'd focus on the two at the lower right for your best shot at identifying one or both. not sure when to date this though, Ming at the earliest I would think.
