Subject:Help identifying a bowl
Posted By: Rob Wed, Jun 16, 2010 IP: 69.248.82.110

I recently bought a bowl (10" wide 5" tall) and 5 balls (4" tall). I was hoping to find out what I have, before my wife turns it into a planter in the backyard. Thanks.

Hello Rob,

I think this is a rather recent production and has a mark wich is another variation of a Qianlong mark. It says "Da Qing Qianlong". Is the mark placed in the middle?

Regards,

Arjan

This is a modern decorative item and has only limited value. However if you keep it a hundred years it would be worth more. However if it was made into as planter with a hole drilled in the bottom it would reduce it's value a hundred years from now. Your call :)

Thanks guys. The mark is in the center. The Qianlong mark was the only thing I was able to identify, but there was no way this thing was that old.
