Subject:Antique Sushi Set
Posted By: Sue Workman Mon, Jun 21, 2010 IP: 67.239.111.35

Can anyone help me identify or even just give me some information about this set. The box is cherry, I believe, and there are 9 separate dishes inside, 3 different shapes. The dishes are painted pinks and greens with gold trim. The box lid is painted on the outside with gold, and (reversed) inside the lid the paint is in colors. The dishes are marked with 3 different marks, a bird, red, a cross or a T, and a starburst. My parents had this for many years, but they are gone and I cannot ask them what the history is or where they got it. Thank you. Sue

Hi this appears to be a late 19th early 20th C, Chinese porcelain Sweetmeats set. I had one similar with the same type of box.
