Subject:Embroidered Silk 100 Children Panel
Posted By: KRM Sun, Jun 27, 2010 IP: 99.21.12.144 I recently found this pair of panels with this embroidery theme: Ba zi tu. Can anyone tell me more about them? I salvaged them from a thrift store. They were wadded up in a trash bag in deplorable condition. The children look differently stitched than the ones I have seen online, so I can't figure out much about them. I have seen others with much more generic looking children. They are in terrible shape and are falling apart, so we have put them in plexiglass. I know they are likely not very old, but we felt they were too beautiful to let them disintegrate. |

Posted By: rat Tue, Jun 29, 2010 100 children (typically boys) reflects Chinese wishes for offspring (typically boys), and is found on silk duvet covers, for example, even today. some can be quite well made. unfortunately your pic didn't come out. |
