Subject:help identifying Japanese 4 panel silk painting
Posted By: Stacey L Tue, Jul 13, 2010 IP: 76.98.154.64

I lived in Japan for 2 years and picked up a lot of small antiques at flea-markets and such. Now living back in the US, I found this 4 panel silk painting at a thrift store. Can anyone help me identify its maker, value, or other worthy information about it? It measures 59' long and 35' high. Thank you very much for looking/helping.

The screen may be Chinese. There's a ren xu cyclical date in the inscription. In the context of the contemporary look of the painting and its framing, that more than likely would be 1982.

Decorative art such as this is frequently found in museum shop and other mail-order catalogs.

Best regards,

Bill H.
