Subject:Ginger jar

I bought this ginger jar a while ago and a friend of mine said it might my fairly old because of the seal on the bottom. I personally think it is just a reproduction but thought I would post here to see what I could find out. Any help would be great thanks!

Hello Aaron,

Well... what's old.
It's hard to make any judgement because of the very smal picture but I think your vase is Japanese and probably a kind of Satsuma (like)ware. For a dating I was thinking about mid 20th. ct. as oldest but maybe better pictures can change my mind.
