Posted By: Bill H Thu, Oct 21, 2010 Since they're transfer-decorated, your bowls could be older Japanese or newer Chinese wares, though I would guess the former is the case from their general appearance and the opacity of the white glaze. The photo of the mark is too fuzzy to make out all of it, though the character on the right means 'wood', so could be some sort of tree or woody plant. |

Posted By: Cal Fri, Oct 22, 2010 Tonny, by "newer" Chinese Bill did not mean 17th-18th century (Kangxi reign) or late 18th/early 19th (Qianlong reign). I believe he meant circa 3rd quarter 20th century. |
