Subject:Identification of Blue & White Chinese Jar - 2nd Attempt
Posted By: Maree Kydd Wed, Dec 01, 2010 IP: 121.219.124.226 I have resized the photographs of the blue & white jar I am trying to identify and date so that they meet the requirements for display. As I mentioned in my earlier message, I bought this at auction. It was described as being "early Chinese", which I take to mean they have no idea as to date and origin is possibly dubious. If anyone an shed light on either it would be very much appreciated. |

Posted By: PyroManiac Fri, Dec 03, 2010 Unfortunately this is a modern vase with only decorative value. Possibly made in Indonesia. I hope you did not pay too much for it. Where I live it would not cost more than US$10. |

Posted By: Cal Fri, Dec 03, 2010 My guess is north European stoneware made recent 20 years. Was well fired and well glazed, even though decoration not excellent imitation of what was copy from. Inscription have no meaning, meant to look Chinese-like. |
