Subject:Japanese Watercolors

Anyone familiar with this artist. I can't read this signature. They are watercolors on cardboard . They measure 15" wide x 36" tall. The backing paper was deteriorated but had Florence Gardner Picture Framing, Culver City, CA . They were purchased for $2.50 at a local estate auction.

From the calligraphy, I suggest these are the work of a Westerner, not a Japanese (or a Chinese, or a Korean, or a Vietnamese, or anyone who can read and write Chinese characters).
