i found this stuffed in a box at a yardsale she is about 5-6 inches tall and in a little glass box

This looks like it may be a vintage Japanese bride doll. I believe the United Nations was involved circa the third quarter of the 20th century in sponsoring arts & crafts programs that included the production of such national and ethnic costume dolls in a number of developing countries of Asia.
