Subject:Asian Vases Identification
Posted By: Barb Walker Fri, Jan 21, 2011 IP: 63.86.175.199 The vases in the attached photos have been in my family for quite some time. I have tried to identify the artist with no success. Perhaps you could take a look and help me identify their origin. |

Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jan 21, 2011 The mark, shown 90-degrees right of reading position, says 'Made in Kutani' (Kutani Sei). This is a geographic mark, so the artist's name will remain a mystery. It may be that this information was included on or in the presentation boxes that often accompany Japanese vases of this apparent quality when purchased. |
