Subject:Wooden Figurines info
Posted By: Marty Thu, Mar 10, 2011 IP: 108.25.145.193

Hello all,

Can anyone provide information about these 2 figurines, each stands 9 1/2" tal and is inscribed on the lowwer left on the back of each figurine. They both appear to be hand carved of wood.

Thank you in advance for any assistance,
Marty

Made by someone called Oota, pronouncing the 'o' sound twice, not an 'ooo' sound. The signature is written in katakana, O-O-TA ; the last character is kanji for SA, meaning "made".

Could that also mean it was made in Ooata Japan, rather than someone with that name????
