Subject:Batik watercolor on silk

I had the piece examined by an individual at a reputable auction house, under illuminated magnification He told me what it is, but could not translate. I took a chance and submitted the photo for possible translation of writing as it did not seem to blurry to read. If better quality photo needed, I'll re-submit. Thank you, Gary |

Posted By: bill h Sat, Mar 19, 2011 A great deal of similar imitation batik decorative art was on the market in Taiwan during the mid-1970's, wherever tourists and military personnel shopped. It is like 'deja vu all over again' as it reappears in estate liquidations with increasing frequency nowadays in the USA. Silk screening was the method of choice for producing them, as I recall. |
