Hi, I have this, I believe its wood and I'm not sure what would have been inside, if anything? Maybe it was used more for decoration. Its scenery on the outside looks like it was carved. Thank you!

This looks like a tea caddy, probably Chinese, with decoration of a magpie on a prunus branch. I wouldn't want to assign it any great age, though.
