Subject:wooden jewerly box

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Thu, Apr 28, 2011 The box looks old, but the white stone on top is most likely Serpentine, softer than Jade. Scratch test will tell: Take a strong needle, and make a 2-3 mm scratch and see if it is white or black. |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Thu, Apr 28, 2011 Just in case that it is Jade, it could have been a replacement, as this carving doesn't show age, it is a rather sloppy carving. I cannot tell the age of the box. |
