Subject:Chinese embroidery
Posted By: Scotchorama Tue, May 03, 2011 IP: 86.205.83.85 Just got this large embroidery featuring birds. Dimensions are roughly 1m50 by 1m. It was part of sale of late Qing/early Republic items. Could anyone tell me anything more about it? Much appreciated, thanks!

Posted By: Cal Tue, May 03, 2011 This embroidery copies probably Japanese painting. Probably 'embroider by numbers' kit like 'paint by numbers' kit. If you carefully separate threads to look at canvas base, could see printed lines outline design.
