I'll defer on the other more cursive script, but the black characters and red mark in the first image both translate as 'Dragon Peak'. If you care to show the rest of the image, perhaps someone will be able to fathom whether this is a Chinese, Japanese or Korean painting. The 'Dragon' character seems to be a variant.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hi Bill,
THanks for helping me one more time ;-) !
As you suggest I post the whole image showing a bird on a japanese cherry. Any idea about the age of this watercolor ? Looking to the frame I guess 1930 but I am really not sure.
Kind regards,
Hagard

Flower and Bird (hua-niao) paintings are about as generic as anything in Chinese, Japanese or Korean art. However, if I had to guess, I'd opine this to be a post-1950 Japanese painting, or perhaps from Taiwan, which was under Japanese dominion from 1895-1945.

The cited bold characters and red mark could be read in Japanese as the name 'Ryuuhou'. My ability to conduct an internet search on Japanese names is limited by a lack of grounding in phonetic characters, but perhaps others will recognize this painter or studio.

Good luck,

Bill H.
