Posted By: Bill H Sun, May 08, 2011 I'll defer on the other more cursive script, but the black characters and red mark in the first image both translate as 'Dragon Peak'. If you care to show the rest of the image, perhaps someone will be able to fathom whether this is a Chinese, Japanese or Korean painting. The 'Dragon' character seems to be a variant. |

Posted By: Bill H Tue, May 10, 2011 Flower and Bird (hua-niao) paintings are about as generic as anything in Chinese, Japanese or Korean art. However, if I had to guess, I'd opine this to be a post-1950 Japanese painting, or perhaps from Taiwan, which was under Japanese dominion from 1895-1945. |
