Subject:Mystery Vase...
Posted By: Matthew Hardin Sun, May 22, 2011 IP: 74.192.143.122

I inherited this vase from my father about twenty years ago. He appreciated it very much so I have held onto it.
On a few occasions I have tried to learn something about it, but never found anything similar in books or online.
If anyone could tell me where it came from and/or approximate age I would be grateful. Thank you.

Your Japanese vase with egret motif and 'Moriage' slip-painted details in relief probably was made around the late Meiji or Taisho era, or circa the first quarter of the 20th century.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hi Matthew,

No marks, I suppose?
The only thing what comes up in my mind now is: Japanese, art deco from Kinkozan studio. 1920's ??
But let's see what others have to say.

Regards,

Arjan

Nope. There are no marks on it anywhere.
Just a lovely moon...

Thanks!
