Subject:eBay Purchase
Posted By: Ron Mon, Jun 06, 2011 IP: 98.176.202.196 I just got this bowl off eBay last week and I want to know your impression of it. Normally, I get the old, beat up stuff and stay away from the elegant stuff but this one sort of appealed to me in a way. I paid $100 as a "buy it now" price and then paid another $10 shipping. It actually looks better than the photos. The lady stated that she acquired it at an estate sale not too long ago. She was told it might be as old as Yuan. The walls are thin but the bowl itself is quite heavy. The diameter at the widest point is just under eight inches and the height is just over 3.75 inches. I can't quite get the color right with my old camera. The bowl is more greenish than greyish and there is very, very fine crackling both inside and outside. The outside of the foot is sloppily glazed but the bottom isn't. The bottom looks old but who knows. Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings. I still like the bowl anyway. |
