Subject:Need help IDing Chinese bowl

Hi there,
I have a rather large Chinese bowl with what looks to be blue and white transferware. It has four medallions with the crane design on it. The bottom looks carved out on three places...why? I'm a total newbie to Chinese porcelain but have acquired this piece and would like to learn more about it. Here is a link to my questions about it, with pics, on another site ( can't figure out how to post pics on this site) So far, no one has given me any information about the bowl. I've found out that the plates on the link are Rose Medallion, but that bowl is a mystery to me. Thanks for any help you can give me!

You do not show bottom of bowl.

Could have been damaged, ground down.

Bowl generally utility ware, show bottom might help tell if made Japanese or Chinese factory.

Thanks for the info. Judy, where did you find that pic? What do you know about this bowl? Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how old it is and what it is called. The lid you pictured is the exact design of what I have...is it modern or old? others have told me it came from a grocery store promotion....I would be surprised if it did!

The lid is mine ,I have the same bowl w/lid I do not believe it is very old but,I am no expert. I picked it up at a flea market about 10 yrs ago. I will continue to follow the post. If u find anything let me know. i also am looking for info on a charger posted 8-10 days ago check it out!

I did show the bottom in the link I provided...it's right underneath the photo of the bowl. The bowl did not come with a lid. So I guess I need to know how old it is, if it's Chinese or Japanese, and what it's called. Basically everything! LOL thanks for any additional help you can provide.
