Subject:Japanese vase and mark,

Tried all my books and looked online,stuck with the first mark,something...'zan' with the 'Prince'mark above,any help please.

The gilt-bordered black field below a circled cross from the Shimazu crest contains a single character, which the online dictionary I use indicates to be the Japanese name 'Akira'. I couldn't readily find other information linking the name to Satsuma or Satsuma style wares. Perhaps someone else has heard of the Artist or studio.
