Subject:Han Dynasty Sword
Posted By: Harry Moore Sun, Jul 17, 2011 IP: 86.151.42.18

Hi all :)

I bought this sword from an online Chinese antiques dealer around ten years ago.

I'd like to hear your opinions on it. Do you think it's recent or ancient? What do you think the (what appears to be) seal script means? Do you think it's worth anything?

And so on.

More pictures to follow.

Thanks very much in advance! :)

Hello Harry,

Bad news, no, it is not Han dynasty. It is late 20th to early 21th century.

It is over decorated, no signs of age/burial whatshowever and , by pure miracle, the decorations are clearly visible while the rest is dirty.

When buying something that should be old, please allways keep in mind that the object was burried for thousands of years. 2.000 in this case. Let's be logic, it does not looks like it, right?

Have a nice day
