Subject:Large Chinese Porcelain Charger (Pair)
Posted By: Dan E. Tue, Aug 09, 2011 IP: 71.89.116.16

Hi,

Here are images of some very large plates (chargers) I got at the estate sale this past weekend. They are about 14" in diameter. I purchased these the second day. There are no marks on the back. Any direction I can take to further my research is appreciated,

Style?

Age?

Quality?

Region?

Thanks, Dan E.

Be Sure to look at the gallery at FLICKR for more close up photos!

These are late 19th - early 20th century Chinese chargers decorated in the Famille Verte style copying earlier Kangxi period wares.

These chargers are circa late Qing to early Republic era with famille verte decoration of birds and insects in a garden setting, painted in the Kangxi style.

You might wish to get rid of those stretcher-type hangers before they inflict any further damage to the porcelain rims.

Best regards,

Bill H
