Subject:Help with title and signature
Posted By: Teresa Sun, Sep 11, 2011 IP: 94.171.250.132 I would appreciate any help with this picture I bought at a flea market. I would like to have it mounted and reframed for my daughters 18th birthday and would like to include the title and artists name. The picture seems to be painted and the detail on the hairband and collar are everso slightly raised and it really is beautiful.

Posted By: ChenA Mon, Nov 07, 2011 The signature says Shōen (Uemura Shōen). The seal is not her name; it's possibly the publisher's seal, as the characters look similar to the ones in your second picture, which gives the name of the publisher.
