Thanks so much to those who translated the writing on the bottom of my Japanese pottery. The translation - Shimamura - is something I am now researching. I was able to click a few photos of the piece and was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me anything more about it. Thank you so much. Since this has been in our family for a long time, I am very interested in its history.

Is not pottery. Is probably porcelain but look a lot like glass.

Decoration in 1920s-1930s European style (made for export) on art-nouveau style blank. Not necessarily decorated where vase made.

Decorative value is however much you like it.
