Subject:Asian pot with lid, beautiful colors w/marks. Inherited
Posted By: Larry Wed, Sep 28, 2011 IP: 24.158.94.118 I inherited this Asian pot with lid when my brother passed away last year.I know nothing about this kind of item, not even if it is Chinese, Japanese,Korean or whatever. My brother retired after 21 years in the US Army and he had been either stationed, or travelled over most of the world. Any help in identifying this item would be greatly appreciated. Larry |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Oct 01, 2011 I can't read the mark but the piece is Japanese, made of Satsuma-style crackle-glaze stoneware and decorated in a polychrome "Moriage" slip-painted pattern that is found on a variety of objects produced in the post-occupation period, or after 1954. |
