Subject:Jade question
Posted By: Patrick Norton Wed, Oct 26, 2011 IP: 99.184.60.229 Got my second item today from eBay, thought it was a bowenite from the photos; not sure what kind of stone I got here? Bends a steak knife and does not scratch, has a lot of calcified stuff in the carved areas, 9 inches tall but real thin stone, insted of white snow clouds like bowenite she has dark green to black. Translucent but only when the light is behind the statue. Not bowenite, what is it? |

Subject:Jade question
Posted By: Patrick Norton Wed, Oct 26, 2011 Put her next to a vase that looks kind of like the same stone; not sure what that large vase stone is either, both have the black with green and the bowenite has a white with green? |

Posted By: Patrick Norton Sat, Oct 29, 2011 Thank you Ernest, guessing both the vase and the new stone I got are a form of serpentine jade; the one in front is a bowenite stone, or that it what I have been told, the light translucent carvings are bowenite? |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Sun, Oct 30, 2011 I am quite sure that those 3 items are Bowenite, the hardest known Serpentine |
