Hello, Can anyone identify these Chinese characters and/ or the mark itself? Thank you. David.

Hi David,

The mark reads: Jiangxi Jingdezhen Min Ci or Jiangxi Jingdezhen reputable porcelain in English. There is also an eight (8) in it which is the factory number. Those marks were in use somewhere between 1940 and 1970.
