Hello, I bought this at auction and would like to know what your thoughts are on this jade buddha? Its approx 8"H. I paid $325 for it. In your opinion do you think it was worth it? As a novice (and on a budget) collector do you have any advice you could give me in future when buying jade. Thanking you in advance!

This is Burmese Jadeite (real Jade). Those are 2 pieces, right? It is quite modern, a little rough around the edges, but you did not lose any money..beginners luck.

Hi Ernest,

Its one piece, although the top piece may have been glued, not sure? Its very heavy. Thank you so much for your expertise!

Look for the color continuation between top and stand. If it matches, it is one piece. Pls. let me know.

I think you're right Ernest. The color does not continue from top to stand. Also I noticed along the bottom of the top base there is a substance that might be glue holding the pieces together. Just curious would this be considered more desirable if this were one piece? Thanks again Ernest!

Actually Ernest, it does match..I looked it over again in better light. The coloring is the same. Thanks

YES, it is more desirable if it is one piece!
