Subject:jade
Posted By: mazzy Sat, Dec 03, 2011 IP: 108.20.243.217 Hello, I bought this at auction and would like to know what your thoughts are on this jade buddha? Its approx 8"H. I paid $325 for it. In your opinion do you think it was worth it? As a novice (and on a budget) collector do you have any advice you could give me in future when buying jade. Thanking you in advance! |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Sat, Dec 03, 2011 This is Burmese Jadeite (real Jade). Those are 2 pieces, right? It is quite modern, a little rough around the edges, but you did not lose any money..beginners luck. |

Posted By: mazzy Wed, Dec 07, 2011 I think you're right Ernest. The color does not continue from top to stand. Also I noticed along the bottom of the top base there is a substance that might be glue holding the pieces together. Just curious would this be considered more desirable if this were one piece? Thanks again Ernest! |
