Subject:Small Vase

Hello,
Could someone identify this small vase ? It measures, 6" high and 3 3/8" across the top. I have been told that it may be Japanese Imari. There are blue spots inside the rim, sort of faded, and the mark on the bottom seems like a blue smudge or a blue whale. There is gold paint around the leaves and elsewhere. I would like to know the age of this vase, maybe the mark on the bottom helps to date it.
