Subject:Green stone on stand
Posted By: Patrick Norton Thu, Dec 29, 2011 IP: 108.75.98.26 Got this green stone on an asian carved stand today; 7" x 4" not carved and just a green river type stone. Anything special about this rock to justify an old carved stand? Stone Mountain art? |

Posted By: Roger Tue, Jan 03, 2012 Your stone looks very much like California Serpentine which is abundant in California and is the state stone. The color ranges from bright green to a dark, blue-green. The shape and flat base on your stone suggests that it may have been displayed as a Viewing Stone or Suiseki. |

Posted By: Patrick Norton Wed, Jan 04, 2012 Does not look like California serpentine; took two more photos, one under table light and one in total darkness with flash. Put the stone popsicle with it, to show they look like the same stone type. Both look more like the under table light photo without flash, then darkness with a flash. |

Pay $9.00 for a green rock and they want $85.00 for a piece of paper claiming it is a green rock? Got to love America. |
