The old Rhino cups I handled did not look like this one. IMHO this looks rather new, whatever material it is..

Hello,

In my humble opinion, this is neither rhino nor wood, but rather buffalo or any other type of horn (hence the structure in the base).
The object doesn't seem to have been carved long ago. The general quality of the carvings and their crispness would lead me to think so.
