Subject:Chinese copy of eskimo inuit art???
Posted By: Patrick Norton Tue, Jan 24, 2012 IP: 108.75.96.91

Got this pendant last weekend and took it to the (only) antique store in my town. Their expert said this was a Chinese copy of eskimo inuit art. Their experts claimed the chinese mass produced carved teeth pendants in eskimo inuit art during the 1970's for the California hippies? In my opinion people assign negative status to things they do not know.
Question is, did china make these carved tooth pendants and flood the market with them in the 1970's?

You can tell it's a fake because the formlines are not done correctly.

Who cares where it was made? The possibility of having been made in China does not make it a proper subject for posting in a forum on Asian Arts.

Good luck,
Cal
