Subject:Bronze statue

hi have been told that this is early Qing period. would like to hear from anyone who can throw light on this.

the style looks different though. any chance its Japanese? what period would this be from?

The armor is Japanese samurai (watch "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise). Likely, your statue was made in the Meiji period.
