Hi,
Can anyone tell me a website or books that go into more detail about Chinese cork art? This is the finely detailed, carved cork of landscapes with temples, storks, trees, etc usually placed inside a thin glass case. For some reason, I can't find anything about them anywhere. I'm interested in knowing what year this type of art became popular, some of the famous artists, and even how this type of art is accomplished. Seems the newer cork art I've seen isn't as detailed as earlier pieces. By that I mean, seems the current cork art is laser cut and not as detailed as cork art I've seen from the 1980's, etc. which I'm assuming was carved by hand.
