Subject:identify vintage Geisha pot? stand
Posted By: David Sun, May 13, 2012 IP: 99.255.148.231 Hello All! Can anyone identify this Geisha pot? stand? Too, I would like to get an approx date of the stand! The stand itself is, what appears to be, pewter (it is quite maluable); the picture of the Geisha girl appears to be silk screen? Any assistance or info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David. |

Posted By: Cal Mon, May 14, 2012 Hot plate made for Western tourist, possibly 1920s-1930s. The photo of Japanese woman (not "geisha") was cheaply lithographed. Not "silk screen," which is another method of printing ~through~ a silk screen, not necessarily ~upon~ silk. Do internet search. |
