Hi David,

Beside the red China marking on your "ricegrain" cup and saucer it has a blue mark that reads " Wanyu ". This mark has been used from Kangxi period and on. Your cup and saucer withe a rubber stamp execution of the mark probably dates from 1925-1945 and maybe even later.
This rice grain pattern (a kind of revival of the older "Devilsware") started in the second half of the 19th. century and is made till today.

Regards,

Arjan

The characters read down as 'Wan Yu' (Jade Trinket). Whereas late 19th century underglaze blue rice china marks were generally handwritten, this one appears to be stamped on, indicating probable manufacture in the early 20th century or subsequently.

Best regards,

Bill H.
