Subject:Tang Dynasty Dragon headed Ewer?
Posted By: R. Morgan Thu, May 24, 2012 IP: 66.192.64.129

This appears to be a tang Dynasty style, dragon headed ewer. Measures 22" H. x 11"W nicely proportioned and hand made, has finely glaze crackling overall and good color. I can't tell if it's genuine or not, what do the experts say?

Is new decorative ware, with white slip under glazes not applied in Tang period style.

Glaze crackle can be created several different ways, or by accident (such as cool too fast after firing), does not mean old.

Good luck,
Cal
