Subject:are these carved wooden Asian statues old?
Posted By: David Sat, Jun 02, 2012 IP: 99.255.148.231

Hello All! Are these carved wooden Asian statues old? The reason for my query is because there is remnants of, what appears to be, a varnish or shellac finish in spots and a great deal of handling wear! Any assistance or info on these two (timely) fellas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

Hi David,

The images are a bit small but they could have some age. The figure to the right with the large round head is the Chinese God of Longevity, he holds a peach which is a symbol of immortality.

Not a lot but I hope it is of some help

Regards
JJ
