Subject:Artist information, value confirmation
Posted By: Shelbe Whitaker Wed, Jun 13, 2012 IP: 50.9.175.134 I would sincerely appreciate any assistance you may provide in getting more information about the artist of this piece, Tai Ling. I would also ask your opinion as to an approximated value range. The only info I have found is from July 2011, a similar work was identified and valued in the $750-$1500 range. This info is from an online art professional, who says there is little known about this artist. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide. |

Subject:Artist information, value confirmation
Posted By: rat Thu, Jun 14, 2012 unfortunately there is nothing known about the artist of this work but a lot is known about the artist whose name is signed to this work. this is a recent Chinese painting (although in some ways it looks Japanese to me) that is signed as being painted by Giuseppe Castiglione, a Jesuit at the Qianlong emperor's court who is known for his paintings combining Chinese subject matter with western painting style. This is not a genuine work of his. |

Posted By: Shelbe Whitaker Thu, Jun 14, 2012 The approximate size of the work is 35" height, by 27.5" width. Also, some close ups of the art, and the rear tag. |
