I purchased these two silk paintings recently, and have tried researching on the internet. Both appear to be by the same artist.

This one is of a galloping horse.

But apart from finding out that the painting is in the style of Xu Beihong, I just can't locate any information on the signature or stamp.

Any information Would be greatly appreciated.

written inscription reads "da hai" or "great sea", likely a nickname of the artist's. the seal will take a couple of minutes that I don't have right this second, but shouldn't be hard for others to read. yes, the same artist as your landscape picture, likely quite minor in the scheme of things.

Thankyou so much for that .. I didnt expect it to be by any significant artist .. but its just so exciting to actually know what it says .. would love to know about the seal if you get time.

In regard to the seal, the character on the right hand side is Tang, which is the family name of the artist. The character on the left is Shi meaning 'family' or 'clan'.

That really is amazing ... I'm becoming increasingly fascinated with Chinese art, and thankyou so much for your help on these. :-)
