Subject:ID Chinese Vase
Posted By: Brett Fri, Jun 29, 2012 IP: 69.119.200.78

I don't know if this is old or if it is a reproduction of an old vase. It looks pretty old, but not extremely old. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Your vase was transfer-printed with some material added by hand, such as the dots of white enamel.

Probably last half of 20th century.

Such crowded-decoration items have been made for export to West since late 19th century, in huge numbers, mostly in Kyoto area (often mistakenly called 'Satsuma' in the West).

Good luck,
Cal

This kind of ware was/is made in China. A lot of them is marked with " Royal Satsuma - made in China" You can make an internet search on that to compare. Dating: after 1980.

Arjan
