Posted By: Guy Thu, Sep 13, 2012 The artist is Utagawa Kokunimasa (1874-1944). This triptych, a so called 'sensô-e' (war print), was published in 1894 during the Sino-Japanese War (1894-95) indeed and is titled 'Pyonyan[heijô] rakujô shi wagahei daishôri'(Our army's great victory at Pyongyang Castle). |
