Subject:2 Chinese Paintings Translation Needed
Posted By: Cheryl Wed, Oct 10, 2012 IP: 108.77.20.26 I have hade these 2 paintings on silk for 40 years. I was told they were by a famous Chinese artist. Can anyone tell me the name of the artist and the inscription? Any ideas on value?

Posted By: rat Thu, Oct 11, 2012 Winter, cyclical year corresponding to 1958, "done in Song style" by someone named Ying Wen with whom I'm not familiar. the picture with the peach is a wish for long life, the other is to "bestow blessings". A professional painter did these and they were purchased most likely as a birthday gift for the recipient. ok quality as illustrations, but no particular historical or aesthetic value.
