Hello, recently purchased a Chinese platter, and was told it was antique with an "inlaid Phoenix design." Would appreciate any help with identification of this platter and when it was made. Thank you.

It is my recollection that Korea is comparatively more famous than China for 'inlaid' porcelains, albeit primarily in the area of Korean inlaid celadons. This and the absence of any identifying information on the base mark shown here tend to make me think your dish may be Korean or perhaps Japanese, considering the decoration's resemblance in its more tactile parts to Moriage slip-painting.

The characters read down from the top right as 'Peaceful Jade Pines', which would be transcribed in Chinese Mandarin as 'Ping An Yu Song'. I couldn't find anything online where all four characters were used together. However, this type of search wouldn't necessarily turn up Korean or Japanese online material, which isn't always written in standard Chinese.
