Subject:Asian Vase with Brass Interlay
Posted By: Cassi Mon, Oct 29, 2012 IP: 98.244.128.167

Hello,
Would you help me identify where this vase came from and approximately how old it is? It was given to me my late father, therefore I have no way of inquiring from the last owner.

The vase is 7 1/4 inches tall. It looks to me like it has a green porcelain glaze on the inside and as the background for the other colors on the surface. I believe there is brass interlaced throughout the entire surface design.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

It is a Japanese cloisonne vase from the early part of 1900 or perhaps (cant tell from the pics) late 1800s. Could be worth about $200 if you can find a buyer. They were usually made in pairs and car easily damaged to place it carefully. Repairs are almost impossible.
